I am cyling a 20 gallon long for the trip to keep whatever I catch. I put a filter card from my comunity tank in there but I was wondering if anyone any advice for what temps to set the thermostat at and any other tips for me. I have a regular lightly colored mix of gravel on the bottom and some various plastic plants along with a brick to provide hiding places.other than that, im not sure what else I can do, Ill probably put a few more rock caves in there. what should I do for food dor them? or am I getting ahead of myself? :?:

You do not need a heater. Take it out. You will see very quickly Saturday that these fish are found in cold water and do not appreciate heat in any way. They can handle room temps just fine. As for food, some of the fish we get(ie. shiners) will take any standard aquarium foods. Some others(ie. darters) will need frozen blood worms or live foods to thrive.

I hope this doesnt ruin any plans for you guys, and I do still plan on being a member. I just wont be able to afford to go on this trip. Please keep me posted on all additional trips though! I'll probably just put on my creek shoes and go tromping through the creeks of charlotte, pretending Im with y'all, lol. this really couldnt have happend at a worse time. Again sorry to ruin the head count. Im not usually flakey like this. I guess its just one of those things. Good luck to you guys who do make it and I hope you catch a bunch! Peace, -Ed
