I'm making this post the official journal of this tank and will update it as often as possible. This first post will expand as the tank grows and as I add livestock, it will also contain the most recent FTS of the tank so you won't have to scroll through the entire thread.
[*]Tank: PicO Aquariums 15x15" low iron cube
[*]Filtration: HOB Aquaclear with custom filter basket and surface skimmer.
[*]Heater: Cobalt Neotherm 50W (Will be put inside Aquaclear)
[*]Water movement: Vortech MP10
[*]Lighting: DIY Full Spectrum LED
[*]Substrate: Caribsea White (don't know specifics)
[*]Live Rock: Yes, how much depends on pieces. Most likely going to have 1 piece live and just seed dry rock.
[*]Fish: No immediate plans
[*]Coral: Softies, LPS and eventually some SPS. Mixed bag if you will.[/list:u]
Lighting for this tank will be a DIY LED fixture comprised of 15 total LEDs. It will be a full spectrum fixture as well and should give me the ability to grow any type of coral I want. I originally built this fixture for a 12" cube but I am now getting a 15" cube. No plans to add any more LED currently for the extra 3", I should still get good coverage but have the space to expand if needed once I start getting into SPS type coral.
[*]3x Cree XP-G Neutral White (NW)
[*]6x Cree XT-E Royal Blue (RB)
[*]3x True Violet (TV)
[*]1x Ocean Coral White (OCW) (3 LEDs a red, a cyan, and a blue)[/list:u]
I have 3 separate dimming controls. The whites, blues, and OCW/True Violets will all be dimmable separately to get that perfect light.
Stay tuned for more!
